Was reading that Jalopnik article on Astons key fobs then I thought, “that hand looks familiar....”. THAT’S MY HAND HOLDING THAT KEY FOB!! And that’s my video they used! Torch just called me a stupid! (0_o)
And yes, I do think their key fob is still cool! Better than BMW’s of the time. And that’s not even my Aston...Hell, I’m too poor to afford an Aston, that’s why I drive a Mustang! Get your alternative facts straight Torch! And if you’re gonna call me stupid, give me some credit!!

But did they service the car?

Given I’ve already had a 944....I guess brown? Then again, I’m not insane enough to buy a broken M5, but insane enough to buy but fix a dead 924 Turbo?

Hell, I already think I’m stupid more often than not without having someone else telling me! That’s most uncalled for!

That’s Silvestro, and I don’t own an ST anymore.

I do always love seeing what you’re up to and it makes me want to tackle the E36 or maybe an E30 that my family has laying around. The build posts are awesome.

Hang on. Did he just screenshot your video just because the display said service due. Wow that’s extra shitty.
However, I still think this key is cool.

Indeed he did!I don’t care because again, not my Aston lol. I will defend that as the best key fob since the dawn of key fobs.

You have people who haven’t met you calling you stupid! People don’t usually say that about me until they know me.

What’s stupid is writing for a major automotive news site and feeling the need to fill valuable screen space repeating the same points over and over again about a key that was last made years ago on a car where an expensive key is insignificant.
Sorry, Torch. Not doing it for me this time.

That’s actually a great keyfob design. It could probably be cheapened without any loss of durability, however.

he has a point though.

the end piece with the etched Aston logo is; they call it “sapphire,” but it’s industrially made corundum (aluminum oxide.) Both sapphire and ruby gemstones are corundum; their colors c ome from the trace metals present. Rubies are pink-red due to the presence of chromium, natural sapphire can be pretty much any other color.
it’s actually pretty easy to make corundum in a lab/industry setting. You can buy some big-ass lab created ruby gemstones for cheap; they’re legitimately rubies (corundum with chromium for color) but they’re immediately obvious as lab-made to a gemologist due to the lack of defects. A 15mm round lab-created ruby is worth about $5, where a good quality natural 7mm round ruby goes for over $300.

Snipping tool on windows is a good way of making a screenshot off a small section of the display instead of pushing imp sys

Maybe they are a touch overpriced then. Still gorgeous, I love glass and crystalwork.

In his defense, anyone who isn't fascinated by Trabants IS stupid.
